I started this new year looking back. 11 years ago today I filled the studio with a project for an exhibition at the Nakanosawa Museum in Gunma. It was a hecktic holliday, filled with dragons.

This year has been more calm. I hope it is a fun and prosperious year for all.

Shiwasu, an old name for the month, “Teacher Runs,” though I have also heard it was originally, Priests run, which seems more reasonable.

My exhibitions for 2023 are well finished. I’m playing with ideas for a new year card. Does anybody send new year cards anymore? My students surely don’t.
